About us

/Our Vision

At Roberts Pianos, we seek to serve piano players across the country by offering top quality pianos at accessible prices to individuals of all skill levels, from concert pianists to music teachers, homeowners and raw beginners.

We also specialise in piano restorations, with over thirty years of working experience, constantly updating our knowledge by attending courses by Steinway, Renner, The Piano Tuners Association and others.

Additionally, we offer other piano-related services such as re-finishing services, piano removals and both short-term and long-term piano storage.

/Our History and our Staff

The Roberts family have been in the trade for four generations, starting in 1919 with David Roberts who worked as a piano and organ tuner and restorer in the Exeter area. David’s son Brian helped with piano restoration but went into music teaching. His son Marcus started as a teacher but got into piano tuning and restoration in 1980. After five years of tuning and restoring, with clients including Vladimir Ashkenazy, John Lill and Alfred Brendel, Marcus began his journey as a piano dealer and has never looked back since. His three sons learned to tune from a young age and two of them have followed in his footsteps, now working full time in the piano trade.

Today, the Roberts Pianos team comprises of 8 full-time workers who cover everything from admin to tuning, polishing, and technical work.
